Hear the Whispers of the Gods

"Let us be silent, that we may hear the whispers of the gods." -Ralph Waldo Emerson

This morning I spent some time in meditation before beginning my last day filling in at the local coffee shop.  I asked god for guidance for my day and my next chapter in life here in southern Utah.  I pulled some cards which had the following messages on them,  “Be silent.  Share beauty.  Healing water.  Write.  Have faith.”  After “work” I spent more time meditating and writing in my journal, this time while sitting on the ground while the sun was setting.  I reached a place in my mind and body where I felt very grounded, so I decided to test the cards again.  I received the following messages, “Be silent.  Healing water.  Have faith.  Share beauty.  Write.”

I had planned to hike in Zion tomorrow on my day off, or more accurately, a day without commitments.  Silence, water, faith, and beauty will not be a problem for me in Zion and inspiration for writing may come with the greatest of ease after a hike.  Emerald Pools, Riverwalk, or Weeping Rock are all popular trails with an abundance of beauty and water.  Spending time alone will take care of silence and I already have a strong feeling of faith in my future, whether thinking about hours, days, or months ahead for me.

Zion is my favorite national park in the United States, but is also known as The City of God.  Although my belief is that god is with me and within me, I also know that my connection to god comes without noise when I’m in nature, and often messages come with greater clarity while I’m in Zion National Park.

"Be silent. Share with the world the beauty seen through your eyes."

Tomorrow I shall be in nature, near water, and be silent that I may hear the whispers of the gods.  Then I will write.
